I know its been a month since our little one turned 1, but in that month time we have had a lot of changes in our lives. We had a birthday party, moved to another state, had Thanksgiving with family, my husband left for a year long venture with the military, and now we are 1 1/2 weeks away from Christmas. This past month has been a whirlwind and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down anytime soon. With Christmas right around the corner and classes about to restart, I am going to be a busy busy bee. I have written the entire birthday post up, I am just waiting on pictures. My fabulous aunt is my go to photographer and she is making me a disk of the birthday pictures. I have some but the quality is really bad because I took them off Facebook. As soon as I get the disk I will finish the post. On another note, I will have a couple projects to show off after Christmas... They're gifts so that means NO PEEKING! :) I can't wait to share what I will be gifting this Christmas! Keep watch for my future posts coming up soon :)

Halloween 2014
So I know this post has taken a while to write but our Halloween was not filled with dressing up and getting candy... unfortunately. It did not go at all as planned.
Our Plan: We were going to be the Apple family from My Little Pony (our nieces idea) and my husband even helped me with finishing the costumes the night before. My husband was going to be Big Macintosh, I was going to be Apple Jack, and our daughter was going to be Apple Bloom. They had all turned out so cute and all we had left to do was put them on and attach mine and my husband's cutie marks. It was our first Halloween we had dressed up since being together and it was our daughters first Halloween s needless to say I was beyond excited! All I have pictures of is our daughter's costume. My husband and I didn't get to wear ours. Everything was handmade except the sweater and pink bow... She looked so cute! I just hate she didn't get to wear it on Halloween. I do have a picture of her in it though (ok 5 pictures) :)
Our Unplanned Adventure: I had been feeling horrible all week and had even been to the ER earlier in the week but still felt horrible on Friday. I went to the doctor and she told me I needed to go to the ER in Columbia ASAP because she thought I may need my gallbladder removed. I was in complete shock. I figured she would just give me medicine and I would be alright but that wasn't the case. By the time I got to the ER I was in pretty severe pain and a nervous wreck. They admitted me just under 3hrs of being there and I was scheduled to have gallbladder surgery the next day. So instead of a fun Halloween with our daughter and nieces, I had to spend it in the hospital. However I did get a picture of our little one on her 1st Halloween all dressed up. Auntie Sarah is a fabulous costume maker on the fly! Our little Spike the Dragon with her other pony friends Twilight Sparkle, Princess Cadence and Apple Jack :)

Apple Bloom Costume
TUTU: I used 3 yards of tulle. I cut 18in long strips, put 4 of
the strips together and then looped them around a piece of 1/2in elastic
that I had sewn together to make the waistband. For the tail I just made the strips a couple inches longer and used the same gathering/attaching method.
LEGWARMERS:The crochet leggings took some work. It actually took me most of the day
just because of the custom sizing but after I had one done the 2nd one
took me about 45 minutes to crochet. The legwarmer pattern can be found here.
EARS & HEADBAND: Sorry guys the ears I completely free-handed. I was tired and ready for bed and needed to finish so I just completely winged it. The headband I glued the ears to is just a long HDC chain. I measured her head before she went to bed and made the chain that length and it fit perfectly.

Here We Go Again!!
It's been a while since I have written but soon I will be back. Life with a infant and doing college classes is a crazy roller coaster ride... but a fun one! My husband and I are enjoying parenthood to the fullest and using our spare time to spend with our little girl. I will post some things I have made recently and in the past to make up for it ;)
As many know, my husband is military and we just found out he will have to leave again soon. While he is gone I have decided to make a granny square blanket. I will do 1 square for every day he is gone but they will be different variations of a granny square. By the time he comes home we should have a new bedspread for our king size bed.... yeah it'll be a lot of squares! I will post my squares and the pattern links weekly or bi-weekly and show my progress. Hopefully this project and the others I do will keep my mind busy and make the time pass by fast.
Posts to look for in the near future!!
~Halloween is coming soon! We are going to have a magical time in our costumes. I will share after Halloween :)
~1st Birthday is coming soon! It will be full of crafty goodness! Our theme.... SOCK MONKEYS!!! I can't wait to share!
These 2 posts are coming soon so be on the look out!
Before I end this post I just have to share one picture :) My husband and I never went on a honeymoon or any vacation in the 2 years before our little monkey got here. So this summer we went on our first family vacation! We had tons of fun and loved our week of fun in the sun. Here is our baby... they grow so fast!!
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Moogly's Bee Pattern Roundup
I was contacted by Moogly's creator, Tamara Kelly, asking if she could use my patterns on her blog this week. Of course I said YES! I absolutely love her pattern roundups and her personal patterns so it is an honor to be a part of her roundup this week. Her roundup this week is called It's the Bee's Knees: The Buzz on 10 Free Bee Crochet Patterns and it has 10 free bumblebee patterns and 2 of which are mine. Go check out the bee patterns and her blog and like her on Facebook! It is awesome!
THANK YOU MOOGLY!! :)

I'M BACK!!!!
I know I have been gone for quite a few months but I have had multiple things happen in the months I was gone. My husband deployed for 6 months and I found out I was pregnant about a month before he left, I began classes in pursuit of my degree, and our best friend moved to another base in Texas. While he was gone I stayed with my parents in GA and spent time with them and my fabulous grandparents. I love my parents and grandparents and having that extra time with them for those 6 months was priceless! Family comes first in my book :) The Thursday before the weekend of my 2 baby showers, my husband came home. We were able to enjoy 1 1/2 months of getting things together for the baby and spending quality time together before our munchkin came into the world.
The night my husband got home :)
Our sweet baby girl Emelyn :)
I crocheted a few things during my busy summer. I will post a few pictures of some of the things I made.
Tenneesee Crochet Edged Blanket and Smokey Lovey
I made a crochet edged fleece blanket for a friend and had a little left over so I made a Smokey Lovey using Repeat Crafter Me's Puppy Dog Lovey Blanket Pattern.
Rivalry Day Headbands
For the yearly rivalry games I made our munchkin headbands with our favorite teams. My husband is an Ohio State fan and I am a GA Tech fan. I think she looks better in yellow ;)
I used Boomer Beanies Miss Priss Headband pattern for the band only. The flower is one layer of the Big Crochet Rose pattern by JT Creations.
Skinny Pink Headband
I made her a little pink headband and the corner to corner blanket she is laying on. The edging of the C2C blanket is a cute little ruffle to make it more girly. It matches her room perfectly.
The headband is just a simple chain to the length I needed and the flowers are from Daisy Cottage Designs Tiny Little Crochet Flower Hair Clip pattern.
4 Braid Cowl
I made this cowl as a Christmas gift along with a ear warmer for my aunt. She absolutely loved it. The colors were perfect since she is a UGA fan.
No pattern! I will write it out when I get a free minute :)
Winter Hats
I also made her some hats. We made a trip up to Ohio to visit my husbands family and the hats came in handy. The picture of her and myself was actually taken at our home in SC. It was her first snow. We had about 1 1/2 - 2 inches that week and about an inch the next week.
**Hat patterns are from Repeat Crafter Me
Zebra Hat
Owl Hat
Those are just a few projects I have done in the past few months :) Be on the look out for more things to come this year!
