~ La LA La LA La LA La LA ~

ELMO'S HERE!!!

I had an Elmo loving 2 year old's birthday coming up and knew just what to make. With the weather becoming cooler down here in SC I decided an Elmo earflap hat would be the perfect gift :) I started with of course bright fire engine red yarn and my go to basic earflap hat pattern, (repeat crafter me's owl hat pattern), gave him some eyes, and a bright orange nose. I bordered the hat with white and gave the earlflaps orange, red, and white braids.... but it was still missing somthing. I pondered whether I should redo the entire hat or to put a pom pom on the top and I decided to put the pom pom on the top and I am so glad I did. It came out so very cute! The best part of all, Elmo earflap hat has been 2 year old approved!! :)

'GIMME A F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L..... WHAT'S THAT SPELL?! FOOTBALL!! It's here!

Now that cold air and football is in the air I figured a cute hat was needed to keep my noggin warm during the games. I saw a picture of a sports team hat and decided to immitate it with my own twist. This is what came from my idea.

The hat was fairly simple to make and I enjoyed making it as Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are THE BEST team in THE WORLD (just ask me or Mom, or Grandaddy and we will tell you) ;) The button is my favorite part of the whole hat! It is a fabric covered button made by me using a kit I bought from Hobby Lobby and I have found making buttons to be so handy when making hats just to give them extra pizazz! I have a friend who is having a baby and she is a USC Gamecocks fan so I also made the hat in a newborn size and it is precious. I wrote the pattern up for this hat in all the different sizes. Did I mention that this is a free pattern that I am gonna offer on here? :D Here it is!

Looking Good in my Loafers

Baby Weston needed some new shoes and his Momma asked if I could make him some cute little loafers and sent me a picture of what she was talking about. Of course I was up for the challenge. I searched Ravelry and Pinterest for loafer patterns for toddlers and found nothing! I thought I was going to have to buy a pattern and when I thought all hope was lost..... I found http://www.loopyjess.co.uk/p/simple-bootie-pattern.html. I adapted the strap to make them look like loafers and they were so cute!! SHHHHHH....... don't tell but I didnt want to give them up they were so adorable! Since My husband and I live in South Carolina and Weston and his Mommy live in Georgia we had to wait until we went for a visit home to GA to see if they fit. Arent they cute with his little chunky legs?!

Meeska Mooska Minnie Mouse!!!

This cute little outfit actually came before the Bumble Bee Outfit and was just an outfit I made for fun. I am so glad I did too! The pattern I used was Repeat Crafter Me's Minnie Crochet Hat and Minnie Inspired Crochet Diaper Cover. I used a different diaper cover pattern for the actual diaper cover itself because the one mentioned in the Minnie pattern was a little difficult to understand. The one I used was http://cbraden7.blogspot.com/2011/08/diaper-cover-pattern.html. It came out exceptionally cute but the diaper cover had one flaw..... it was too small for the doll I used for a model, which is average newborn size. To fix this next time I just used an I hook instead of an H :) The hat was perfect and I even added a frilly lace like edging to make it even more girly. Since its debut on Lulu's it has been a great seller!

Buzzz....... One Last Time

I decided I needed one more gift for the baby shower and that it needed to be something that could grow up with Baby Abby. So I decided the quickest thing I could whip up in less than a day would be a lovey and since the nursery was a bumble bee theme and I decided a bumble bee lovey would be perfect! This is what I came up with.

I wrote up the pattern and here it is :)

Here is the whole Buzzing Bumble Bee Set :)
